What has this world come to?

Start 'em young! I can't believe we're letting the 19 month old play X box. He really did have fun though.

Big Shoes to Fill

Those are mighty big shoes to fill...He put on Daddy's shoes (on top of his) all by self. I did; however, have to help him stand up once he got them on.

End of Baseball Season

It was a fun weekend and we got alot done. We took our traditional Saturday morning trip downtown to the farmer's market to buy fresh fruits and veggies and checked out the "Dig-Digs" doing construction on Main Street. We made our required trips to the grocery, BJs Wholesale and Bed, Bath & Beyond. But most importantly we finally got the garage cleaned out and Paul's truck ("Kruck") back in it. That was huge! We had a great time at the baseball game on Sunday which was the next to last home game. Finally, we ended out the weekend with a bath... "Bubbuls" of course.

On a side note, (no pictures here) Thomas is doing so well potty training. He goes almost everytime we put him on the potty. He has even asked a couple of times. He is so excited when he gets to flush and wave bye bye. We have no misconceptions that we will no longer need diapers, but we're heading the right direction.

Nice Long Weekend

I took Thursday and Friday off of work to hang out with Thomas since his school was closed for "fall" cleaning. Thursday we hung out with Nanny before her surgery and while she was in her procedure we visited some people I work with. Mom's surgery went well and Papadad took nanny home to rest. Thomas and I went to Augusta Circle to play on the playground and that evening we hung out with Catherine and David. Friday morning Thomas and I went to the zoo. It was still relatively cool and the animals were quite active. Thomas loved roaring at the lion and watching "Baby Bob", the orangutan. We went downtown to the fresh market Saturday morning and bought fresh shrimp, corn and fruit. That night, Thomas ate more than his share of shrimp and loved eating corn on the cob. We were planning on camping out in our backyard, but it got too hot in the tent and Thomas wouldn't settle down, so we aborted that plan. It was a good thing as we had a huge thunderstorm with torrential rain.

Sunday, we went to Paris Mountain State Park for a mini hike and played on their playground. Finally, we ended the weekend with a nice bike ride around the neighborhood.

Why we love Greenville

Saturday, we had a great day enjoying our hometown attractions. We got up and went downtown for the farmers market where we bought fresh peaches, blue berries (aka "ball berries") figs and cherries. We then walked down to the Reedy river to feed the ducks, splash in the fountain and dance to the concert across the way at the Peace Center Ampitheather. We walked the bridge and then headed to Cleveland Park to play on the playground.
Sunday we recieved terrible news that Elizabeth was in the hospital with viral meningitis (again! She had it three years ago.) We jumped in the truck and rushed to Athens to find her feeling groovy to the tune of some serious pain killers, but in great spirits considering the situation. She will be in the hospital till at least Tuesday, but thankfully she is going to be OK.

Who knew that in today's economy, you could have so much fun for 69 cents?

Summer Treat

Talk about sweet memories... I remember running out of the house as a child yelling "Ice Cream Man". Here we are years later, but less than a mile away-chasing the same music with our son. Makes my heart sing. The ice cream wasn't bad either.
