Roper Mountain Lights

Tonight, the whole family (including Kudzu!) loaded up to take our annual trip to Roper Mountain to see the Christmas lights.

We were nervous about Thomas seeing Santa Clause but reverse psychology worked wonders and after telling Thomas he was too little, he jumped on Santa's lap and talked the poor fellows ear off!

Grown-up Weekend

Last night was Paul's Christmas Party, so Thomas got to stay home with his friend Madeline. Tonight, Thomas' daycare had a Parent's Night Out where his teachers got a chance to earn extra Christmas cash and the kids all got together in their pajamas for pizza and a Christmas movie. Paul and I enjoyed a nice dinner out and some Christmas shopping.

School Christmas Program

Tonight was the Christmas Program at Trinity United Methodist. Thomas had a great performance and had a really good time. The kids are singing Happy Birthday Jesus and you can barely hear it even if you've got your volume maxed.

After the program, we had refreshments and a silent auction.

Decorating the Tree

This evening we decorated our beautiful Fraser Fir that we brought back from the NC mountains. Thomas definitely was into hanging ornaments this year and we managed to decorate the tree without any broken ornaments!

Then Thomas went to bed, and Paul and I decorated the top 2/3rds of the tree!

Christmas Downtown

We woke up this morning excited to go downtown to the Christmas version of Saturday Farmer's Market downtown. The rain clouds were threatening, but we headed to Main Street only to find it cancelled due to rain!?
The rain never came but the cold did. That night we bundled up and headed back to Main Street for the Greenville Christmas Parade. It was cold but fun. Merry Christmas!

WELL WORTH THE WAIT!

It was definately worth the wait! We finally took ownership of my new 2010 Ford Flex. It's awesome! It has an automatic liftgate and it's considerably lower than the Explorer so it's easier to get my gear in. I have an awesome nav system, hands-free and sirius. I can even check doppler radar and football scores! There is a refrigerator/freezer in the back seat and an 110V outlet. The coolest thing is, it can parallel park itself. Seriously, hands-free!

I LOVE MY NEW DAWG SLED!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! Thomas had a great time trick-or-treating despite the rain (he said frogs are supposed to be wet) and he sucessfully collected more candy than he could ever eat. He also enjoyed giving out candy to the gouls who visited our haunted house. We recieved many compliments for the scariest house on the block and had upwards of 150 kids (even in the rain). Thanks to Juju for manning the candy while we trick-or-treated!

And if Thomas weren't high enough on sugar, he got to sleep in his big boy bed for the first time. He was a wee bit excited but slept through the night and stayed dry! That's a little more than one month in big boy pants!
Yeah Thomas!

Tweetsie Railroad

It was a beautiful weekend to drive to the mountains for a peek at the gorgeous leaves and to spend some fun time with family at Tweetsie Railroad. I went to Tweetsie every summer as a child and it was delightful to share the experience with Thomas. We had a wonderful time visiting Granny, Sherry, Catherine and Graham. The day started clear and warm then turned cold and cloudy but it didn't dampen the fun one bit. Thomas was a bit nervous during the gunfights on the train, until we bought him his own gun to defend himself. Apparently we have an adrenaline junkie in the making because we couldn't drag him off the tilt-a-whirl or the scrambler.

It's a Boy!

Found out today that Thomas is going to have a little brother to play with! Can't wait for our next little guy to join us!

Trunk or Treat

"Stick" is back for his second adventure in trick or treating this year. We went up to Thomas's school and decorated the truck for the second annual "Trunk or Treat". There were games, tatoos, food and ,of course, candy. By the 31st he'll be a pro.
