Tweetsie Railroad

It was a beautiful weekend to drive to the mountains for a peek at the gorgeous leaves and to spend some fun time with family at Tweetsie Railroad. I went to Tweetsie every summer as a child and it was delightful to share the experience with Thomas. We had a wonderful time visiting Granny, Sherry, Catherine and Graham. The day started clear and warm then turned cold and cloudy but it didn't dampen the fun one bit. Thomas was a bit nervous during the gunfights on the train, until we bought him his own gun to defend himself. Apparently we have an adrenaline junkie in the making because we couldn't drag him off the tilt-a-whirl or the scrambler.

It's a Boy!

Found out today that Thomas is going to have a little brother to play with! Can't wait for our next little guy to join us!

Trunk or Treat

"Stick" is back for his second adventure in trick or treating this year. We went up to Thomas's school and decorated the truck for the second annual "Trunk or Treat". There were games, tatoos, food and ,of course, candy. By the 31st he'll be a pro.

Tagging Along

Paul had a business trip to Savannah, so Thomas and I tagged along for some fall fun in "The Hostess City of the South"

Boo in the Zoo 2009

Thomas is at the age where he is grasping the concept of Trick-or-Treating. We had our first halloween experience of the year at the Annual "Boo in the Zoo". Thomas had a hard time deciding what he wanted to dress up as this year. First he wanted to be a dinosaur, but since he was a dragon last year, Mommy put the kabash on that one. Next he wanted to be (specifically) a blue caterpillar. Believe it or not I actually found a costume, but I had my concerns that it would be too heavy/hot. SO we ended up dressing up at his favorite story book character "Stick", a baby frog who wants to do everything by himself. Kind of appropriate.

So Very Very Embarassed!

So I'm going to catch up. I am. Really. The excuse this time is my laptop had to go back to Minneapolis for repair. The bad news is I was without a computer for awhile, the good news is I got a new laptop.
So most recently, I want to wish the most wonderful man in my life a happy Anniversary. 6 great years. Man, time flies when you're having fun. For our Anniversary weekend, we spent a beautiful day in the mountains hiking and had a nice dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse with our favorite toddler, Thomas.

Thomas and Daddy had a guy's weekend while Mommy flew to Ohio for a Baby Shower for Aunt Julie. It was a busy but fun-filled weekend. Julie's shower was at her sister's house and it was great fun to catch up with all the Wolfe gang. We had some (OK alot) of great food and fun. Cant wait for baby Samuel!

SO VERY EMBARASSED...

Well, it's been almost a month since my last post and I am determined to get caught up. It's no excuse, but between Thomas having the croup then sharing it with me, I have had little time to keep up with the blog. Oh yeah, and I'm making a baby out of a bean! (see last post)

Anyway, working backwards, we had a wonderful time at "The Big Dig". It was about ten acres fenced off and devoted entirely to a construction themed festival. The had concessions, games, demonstrations and giant piles of dirt for the kids to play on. The had police cars, fire trucks and a helicopter they could sit in. They even had a gigantic dump truck filled with hay to give the children hay rides. Best of all, they let the kids get in dump trucks/excavators/bulldozers and actually let them operate them (with the help of a very patient construction worker). Needless to say, Thomas was in seventh heaven.

Over Labor Day, we went down to Charleston to visit the Putman clan. Thomas had a busy, fun-filled time visiting with his cousins, aunt, uncle, grandparents and great-grandmother. The weather wasn't super but we still played on the beach, in the pool, and had a wonderful time on Sullivan's Island. We even saw manatees in the marina behind Nanny and Pappa's house.

Juju came to visit us the end of August and we had a great time visiting her. Thomas and Juju went to the park and Zoo, went downtown and got to ride the trolley and spent many long hours playing together.
