Trains, Trains

Tonight, we went to Mauldin to experience their "Trains, Trains". They had two auditoriums full of model trains and a real engine parked outside. Thomas got to drive Thomas the Tank Engine, race Daddy and push tons of buttons that activated elements on the model set (ie lights, sound effects).

GRADUATION

It's that time of year again. Time for caps, gowns, Pomp and Circumstance. Thomas' daycare had a graduation ceremony for all the K4s. Thomas and his class got up and performed and then there was dinner and cake. Thomas was quite a performer particularly showing off his talents of nose-picking!

Showoff

We took Davis to the doctor today for his 2 month visit. He weighed in at 12 lbs 2 oz (59 %) and was 23 1/2 inches (70%). He was bright eyed and smiled for Dr. Clayton. She put him on his tummy and he was really moving so she looked up at us and said "Wow, he's really getting close, has he rolled over yet?" We responded "No" and as if on cue he rolled over in front of all of us!

Haulin' Booty

Daddy made Thomas a racecar dessert.
The picture below reminds me of a funny thing Thomas says these days. Whenever we're driving around town (usually on the highway) and we get passed by a car or truck, Thomas likes to inform everyone within earshot that they are "HAULIN' BOOTY"

Lake Retreat

While Daddy was on a business trip to Indiana, Thomas, Davis, Kudzu and I went to spend a few days at Lake Keowee. It was great to spend Nanny's birthday with her and Pappa prepared a fabulous birthday dinner - a three course meal with wine pairings. We had a very busy and fun trip full of golf, swimming, fishing, boating and a trip to the playground and horse barn. Paul joined us Friday and Saturday Thomas went fishing on the river with Daddy and Pappa. Nanny, Davis and I took Granny to meet Sherry and Darrell near Chesnee where we had lunch and got fresh strawberries.

SURPRISE!

On Mother's Day we packed up and drove to Athens for a fun surprise. Unbeknownst to anyone (but Jack) we met Jack, Elizabeth, Kinsey, Max, Nan, Granddaddy (ie. Beth and Harold Patrick), Nanny, Pappadad and Granny for a delicious brunch at the Georgia Club and then a spectacular display of talent at Kinsey's first dance recital. Thomas had such a great time playing with his cousins and Davis enjoyed a little cousin love.

Artisphere 2010

After Paul and Thomas made an early trip to the Farmer's Market, we all headed back downtown for Artisphere. The streets were lined with vendors selling artwork, jewelry, pottery, food and drinks. There were artists painting to music and beautiful chalk masterpieces on the sidewalk. They had a children's section in the Peace Center Pavilion with dancing and plenty of kid's crafts.

This guy looked JUST LIKE a bronze statue and never moved until you put money in his pot, then he'd pass out lollipops. Scared alot of folks, too!

Main Street Friday Nights

We started out with a yummy dinner at Blue Ridge Brewery and then hit the street for Main Street Fridays, previously known as Friday Night Jazz. Anyway with a rockin' band in the background we enjoyed some brews while Thomas spent some energy. This boy is a jumphouse fanatic. He'd jump hours if allowed. He also tried out his baseball skills.

Heads Up!

He's working those neck muscles now and can hold the big noggin for minutes at a time. He can still do a great impression of a bobble head though.

First Smile...Captured

After weeks of trying to catch the rare phenomenon on film, I was able to get a picture of Davis' precious smile. The first of many!

Meeting Granny

Davis finally got to meet his Great-Grandmother, Granny today. Of course he layed on the charms and she is now wrapped around his little finger.

Ken - Ducky Derby

This weekend was the 6th annual Reedy River Duck Derby. It was our first time and we didn't know what to expect. We enjoyed the "pre-race" activites, but missed the actual race. People buy ducks and then the hundreds of rubber ducks race over the Reedy River Falls. We'll know next year to bring our chairs and tailgate supplies for an all day event.

Blythe Blast

Springtime brings school carnivals to our neighborhood. Last week was the Augusta Circle Circus and this week we went a mile down the road to the Blythe Blast. This carnival was considerably busier and a little more strict (ie. at ACC he could jump in a bounce house for 30 minutes, but because of the lines at BB he could only stay in for about 5 minutes). We still had fun though!
