Saturday morning, unbeknownst to me, Thomas was playing with Davis with his clackers. They are fingertip toys with rubber tentacles and balls on the end so wiggle your fingers and make lots of noise. I was five feet away and had just taken my eyes off them when Thomas begins to scream. He was holding his eye and saying Davis hit him...then I saw the toy and knew. Thomas' eye filled with blood (the whole eye not just the whites) and he said he couldn't see. So we spent the day in the ER. They typically admit children with this kind of injury and sedate them to prevent further damage. The Dr. let us go home with the understanding he was not to do ANYTHING! Starting Sunday we saw the Dr. everyday for almost two weeks. Sweet Thomas had to wear an eye sheild and put 6 different drops in his eyes four times a day. Now we watch movies.
